Efficiently provides database management for Gold, Silver, Alloys and solders and solves complex calculations. An essential tool that every Goldsmith, Jeweller, Alloy casting expert and Gold Metallurgist should have in their possession.
Gold / Silver Engineer™ is targeted for professionals in the manufactory of Gold and Silver Alloys, Gold and Silver coins, Solders and Fine Gold and Silver Jewellery including retailing. This product is an essential tool that every Goldsmith, Jeweller, Alloy casting expert and Gold Metallurgist should have in their possession. Gold / Silver Engineer™ provides database management for Gold and Silver Alloys and solders, easily determines the cost for producing various different Alloys and efficiently solves complex Alloying calculations. Gold / Silver Engineer™ is an Australian made product. It was designed and created in Australia by Jewellers and professional Software / Computer Engineers.
Gold / Silver Engineer™ automatically comes with an extensive online help. Online help is provided for every dialog and feature used in Gold / Silver Engineer™. Tutorials are also provided with the software to teach beginner users how to use Gold / Silver Engineer™. Solve complicated Alloying problems now!
Gold Alloys and solders can contain nested alloys. For example, we can create a whole set of common library alloys such as silicon-copper, compos and various brass metals and use these alloys within our Gold Alloy and solders. For instance, if we edit the 18 carat Gold with compo (White) then we see that it contains Gold, Orange Compo., Copper, Nickel and Zinc. Orange compo is actually a nested alloy. All units used in Gold / Silver Engineer™ for measuring Gold content are measured Carat and its decimal equivalent. All weight measurements are measured in metric units (mg, g and Kg) and Troy units (OZ Troy, Dwts and Grs). Units can be changed and mixed on the ‘fly’. Gold / Silver Engineer™ provides database management for Gold Alloys, Silver Alloys and solders, efficiently performs complex calculations like Master Alloy calculations, Gold and Master Alloy calculations, Silver and Master Alloy calculations, stand alone Element composition calculations. The weight and percentage of each element is calculated on the fly. The true gold carat for each calculation or the silver content is also displayed. Make Alloy by Weight: Figure 1 shows the amount of Fine Gold, Orange Compo., Copper, Nickel and Zinc that would be required if we wanted to make 60 grams of 18ct Gold with compo (White). ![]() Figure 1 Figure 1 shows the individual percentages and weights that must be added to make 60 grams of 18 carat Gold with compo (White) Master Alloy. However, Figure 2 shows the percentages and weights of each individual elements in the Gold Alloy. You can break down nested library alloys into the respective elements by checking the 'display elements only' checkbox. ![]() Figure 2 Figure 2 shows the individual percent and weights of the elements that must be added to make 60 grams of the 18 carat Gold with compo (White) Master Alloy. Note that the nested library alloys shown in Figure 1 have been broken down into the respective elements. Alloying by compositions: Gold / Silver Engineer™ makes it possible to calculate Gold Alloy and Silver Alloy compositions by working backwards. For example, what amount of 18 carat Gold with compo (White) must be manufactured to only contain only 20 grams of Nickel? What is the composition of the elements within the 18 carat Gold? By selecting on the 'Enter weight by single element or library alloy' radio button it is possible to calculate such computations. Figure 3 shows the results to this problem: ![]() Figure 3 Figure 3 shows that if you wanted to manufacture 18 carat Gold with compo (White) to only contain 20 grams of Nickel then you would need to make 49.5 grams of Master Alloy. Other Alloying Calculations: For other related calculations such as Master alloy computations and Fine Gold and Master alloy, Silver and Master alloy computations please download the free demonstration program and compute these calculations. Raising / Lowering Carat or Silver content: Gold / Silver Engineer™ allows you to raise the carat content of Gold Alloys and solders by calculating the amount of Fine Gold that must be added to get the desired carat. Gold / Silver Engineer also allows you to lower the carat content of the Gold Alloys and solders by calculating the amount of Master Alloy that must be added to get the desired carat. Gold / Silver Engineer™ allows you to raise the Silver content of Silver Alloys and solders by calculating the amount of Silver that must be added to get the desired silver content. Gold / Silver Engineer™ also allows you to lower the Silver content of the Silver Alloys and solders by calculating the amount of Master Alloy that must be added to get the desired silver content. Download the Gold / Silver Engineer™ to perform calculations such as raising the carat content of Gold Alloys, Silver Alloys and Solders by the addition of Fine Gold or pure silver. Alloying Cost Calculations: Gold / Silver Engineer™ also provides Manufacturing cost and Sales cost support. Calculations include many variables which may be altered to accurately calculate the cost of Gold Alloys and Solders as presented in real life situations. Gold / Silver Engineer™ also provides support for modifying the element cost database. Changing the cost element of one element will automatically update the Gold Alloy or Solder cost per gram, the Manufacturing cost and Sales cost. This is a very powerful feature as the cost of individual cost of elements is always changing... ![]() Figure 4 Specific Gravity Conversions Calculations: Gold / Silver Engineer™ can perform Specific Gravity conversions quickly and accurately. It is as simple as selecting the known Alloy or Element and typing in its measured weight. Then selecting any unknown Alloy or Element you will have the converted weight result. Gold / Silver Engineer™ also provides support for you to add new Specific Gravity constants if you find there is an Gold Alloy, Silver Alloy, Solder or Element missing from the Specific Gravity database. ![]() Figure 5
